Do you have questions about therapy for children, teens, young adults, and families? That’s understandable! Here are some of the most common counseling questions I get from clients. And if you can find the answers to your questions here, don’t hesitate to reach out to me via my contact page.
How many sessions do I need with you?
Great question! As irritating as this may sound, how long we work together depends on your needs and desired timelines for change. Our sessions can be weekly, biweekly, or monthly and can change as you progress through therapy.
As a new client, we should meet weekly to ensure favorable therapy outcomes. As therapy continues, we can shift to meeting biweekly if you’d like.
How soon can I get an appointment with you?
I can generally see clients within two weeks of your initial inquiry.

Do you take insurance?
This is a very common question about therapy with me. And the answer is: YES! I do take insurance. Currently, I am in-network with Florida Blue, Cigna, Aetna, and United/Optum.
How much do sessions cost?
Along with taking insurance, I also accept cash pay clients for $150 per 55-minute session.
What are your appointment hours?
I make appointments from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Fridays.
What is your cancellation policy?
I get it. Life happens! Things can come up unexpectedly. I generally ask for a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel your appointment. If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full no-show fee for the session.
Can you fix my problem?
I genuinely wish I had a magic wand that could fix any problem you may have! The reality is that 90% of therapy is having a trusted, therapeutic relationship, and 10% is the work you do within and outside our sessions together.
By “the work you do,” I mean practicing the skills we discuss together. I’ll never ask you to write a 1000-word essay like you’re in a high school English class. But I will ask you to practice the skills you learn in our sessions. Change happens when you take action!
What can I expect from therapy sessions with you?
Ah, another excellent counseling question! I know starting therapy can be overwhelming – the unknown of it all can be a lot! But with me, you can expect a kind, empathetic, genuine therapist. I will be present with you during our sessions, meet you wherever you are, and challenge you when appropriate.
